Krish Theobald

Specialising in low voltage-electrical installations, with a focus on achieving on-the-ground compliance to IEC 60364.
Krish is actively involved with national and international standardisation efforts in the following committees:
BIS: ETD 20, ETD 32, CED 46 P13 WG3 & ETD 50
IEC TC 64: MT 1, MT 2, MT 9, MT 12 & WG 48

International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC)
Our Principal Consultant, Krish Theobald, is a member in several technical committees of the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC), representing India in the following maintenance teams and working groups:

TC 64/MT 1: Terms and definitions (IEV 826 and IEV 195 in collaboration with TC 1) and revision of IEC 60364-1

TC 64/MT 2: Current carrying capacity of conductors and related overcurrent protection

TC 64/MT 9: Disconnecting times and related matters

TC 64/MT 12: Verification of electrical installations
-
TC 64/WG 48: Safety aspects of local generation and electrical energy storage



Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS)
Aside from his participation in international standardisation efforts in the IEC, Krish is an active member in several technical committees of the Bureau of Indian Standards:

ETD 20: Electrical Installations

ETD 32: Electrical Appliances

ETD 50: Low voltage direct current

CED 46 P13 WG 3: Revision of the National Building Code (electrical installations)



He is also the convenor of two working groups:
ETD 20 WG: Adoption of IEC 60364-8-82 & IEC 60364-8-3
ETD 20 WG: Adoption of IEC 60364-5-57
He has also served as a member in BIS's Research and Evaluation Committee for the evaluation of research projects on low-voltage direct current.
Currently, Krish is also a member of BIS's course development committee as well as visiting faculty at the National Institute of Training for Standardisation.
As a member of ETD 20, Krish is also guest faculty at the National Institute of Training for Standardisation conducting training on the National Electrical Code of India.




National Federation of Engineers for Electrical Safety (NFE)
Krish serves as the Technical Chair at the National Federation of Engineers for Electrical Safety, based in Chennai. He has delivered training at 20+ workshops conducted across India since 2023 training over 3000+ engineers on the requirements of the National Electrical Code of India. These include workshops at:
